The education and literacy unit of the “Pooyesh Child friendly Association” started four years ago due to the need for cultural and educational promotion of the children ‘s families under the auspices of the association. According to the association, growth takes place in the context of school-family interaction, so educating the parents of the children is a prerequisite and a necessary condition for the comprehensive education of the child. In this regard, this association unit pursues the following activities for more than 150 parents of children covered by the association
At present, the first literacy entries of the mothers of the association have reached the fifth year, and the classes of this unit are followed for mothers and fathers in five stages. According to the needs of the local community, the association’s literacy activities will be held in the two centers of Mahmoudabad children house and Baghdadi Furnace. All nutrition, health, financial support, assistance and counseling funds, library and recreational and pilgrimage camps of Pooyesh Association are also included. Workshops for empowering the family of this unit are also missing according to the necessity and needs of the local community: Anger management, life skills, earthquake crisis management, prevention of allergic diseases, familiarity with diseases, reading, self-confidence, occupational safety medicine, effective ways of communication between parents and children and…. Also, in order to strengthen the spirit and create more empathy and solidarity among the literate students, this unit organizes one or more days of pilgrimage tourist camps for mothers every year. The annual gathering of Ramadan as well as cooking competitions are also among the spiritual and entertaining programs of the literate students. The unit also has on its agenda the upgrading and empowerment of its training staff, which is often selected from the local community itself, as well as the training of new instructors from the local community.
